Dandy Crazy, one of Zambia's most famous musicians, has died from injuries resulting from a road collision on New Year's Eve.
The 47-year-old – whose real name is Wesley Chibambo – was traveling in the Kapiri Mposhi district of Zambia when his car collided with a truck and a second car.
Three people died at the scene. Dandy Crazy died in the early hours of Thursday despite being taken to the University Teaching Hospital in the capital Lusaka for emergency surgery.
President Hakainde Hichilema was among those who praised the musician, describing him as an “exceptional artist”.
“His music and charisma have touched people’s lives on a massive scale, crossing all boundaries and bringing people together,” Hichilema wrote in a Facebook post.
