The Undertaker has dominated WWE for 30 years. His feuds against the likes of Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and more placed him in the upper echelons of the industry. There's no denying that tales involving “Taker” are the stuff of legend.
Speaking during the latest episode of What were they thinking? on Backstage corridorJBL recalled an incredible story about Undertaker in Iraq. The Hall of Famer said they had their photos taken inside Saddam Hussein's palace during their tour in Baghdad, Iraq:
“I mean we stayed in Saddam Hussein's palace. There's a famous picture of me and Undertaker on Saddam Hussein's throne. There it is, the palace.” (09:33 onwards)
Elsewhere in the podcast, JBL revealed that American soldiers asked him and Undertaker to play golf on Saddam Hussein's balcony during WWE's visit to Iraq in the 2000s:
A top AEW star described one of his teammates as “spoiled” and “narcissistic.” here.
“We're in Saddam Hussein's palace, Iraq. We've rarely stayed in the Green Zone. We've always stayed in forward operating bases. And so I got up to Undertaker and said, 'Do you want to be a part of this?' I think, 'I don't know what's going on, but there's something…' What's going on? And the soldier got a bunch of golf balls from the USO and he took us out to Hussein's balcony and said, can you guys hit some golf balls with us? I said, you're right, I will, one of the best days of my life. We sat down There we played golf balls on Saddam Hussein's balcony in his lake (from 25:45 onwards).
While JBL didn't reveal who won the golf game, it looks like the former WWE Champion had a great time.
