India Under-19 star Aayush Mhatre is making headlines once again, as he broke the world record in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He became the youngest batsman ever to score 150 or more runs in a List A cricket match.
Aayush Mhatre achieved the feat during the match between Mumbai and Nagaland played during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. During this innings, he also broke the record previously held by Yashavi Jaiswal.

At the age of 17 years and 168 days, Aayush Mhatre is now the youngest player to score 150 or more runs in List A cricket. Mhatre smashed 181 off just 117 balls at an impressive strike rate of 154.70. He hit 15 fours and 11 sixes during his knock.
It was an excellent knock from the India U-19 opener who made headlines for his sensational performance in the recent U-19 Asia Cup where India lost to Bangladesh in the final.
Earlier, the record was held by Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored over 150 runs when he was 17 years and 291 days old. Jaiswal scored a brilliant 200 against Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019.
The left-handed opener scored 203 off 154 balls with 17 fours and 12 sixes and helped Mumbai win the match. Both Mhatre and Jaiswal are from Mumbai and have shown immense batting potential.
