West Ham have canceled their scheduled press conference this afternoon, heightening speculation that Julen Lopetegui will be sacked.
The Spaniard only took charge at the London Stadium in May, but has overseen a disappointing start to the season with the Hammers sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
Lopetegui was scheduled to review in front of the media today the third round match of the FA Cup on Friday against Aston Villa, but the club announced this morning that it will no longer go ahead.
Graham Potter is the favorite to take over with reports suggesting the former Chelsea boss has held several rounds of talks with the West Ham board.
The Daily Mail claims the east London club want Potter to join on a short-term deal until the end of the season, with the 49-year-old wanting a longer contract.
There is also the possibility of Everton keeping an eye on West Ham, who are considering Sean Dyche's future following their takeover by Friedkin's group.
If Potter heads to Merseyside, Christophe Galtier has emerged as a potential replacement.
The former Paris Saint-Germain coach is currently coaching Al-Duhail of Qatar, but is relishing the opportunity to move to the English Premier League.
