Newcastle coach Eddie Howe praised his team after the Magpies recorded their fifth successive Premier League win with a 2-1 win over Tottenham.
Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak scored as Howe's side came from behind to take all three points at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Dominic Solanke gave Tottenham the lead early, and increased the pressure late, but the visitors held firm as they continued their attempt to break into the top four.
โWe had to dig deep today,โ Howe told TNT Sports after the game. โIt was a tough win but it was a big win for us.โ

When asked about the possibility of a handball in the game leading up to Newcastle's equaliser, Howe admitted the ball struck Joelinton's arm but said he was not clear about the rules in that case.
The Magpies boss was also quick to praise the in-form Isaac, who became the third Newcastle player to score in seven consecutive Premier League matches, after Alan Shearer and Joe Willock.
“He (Isaac) is in the right place at the right time again, and that's an art,” Howe said.
โ(He scored) massive goals for us. He's on a really hot streak and that could continue for a long time.
Howe added that his team's recent impressive performance helped instill confidence in the team.
โConfidence has definitely changed as it naturally happens when you win games. I think that was something we were building on. Our performance overall was very good.
“We went through a really difficult phase but among them, there are games that we probably should have won. But we are a very good team. We have good players, so I think we can keep this going.”

Issac agreed that the atmosphere in the camp was good, but said that the players should not get ahead of themselves.
โIt's about keeping that energy, keeping the same level because it can turn at any moment. We have to stay focused and keep working hard to keep winning.โ
Regarding his scoring career, the striker added: โI'm really happy, how things are going. I go into every match with the same scoring mentality.
“I'm not thinking about breaking records or anything like that. It's just a positive point.”
“I don't think it's an individual thing, it's a collective thing. As a team, we've been really good lately. I think we've played really well. And it makes it easier for individuals. It goes hand in hand.”
