“The American people gave Washington a mandate in November — waste less, save more. Today I'm introducing a first set of bills to follow through on their mandate by prioritizing streamlined regulation, rulemaking, and recordkeeping. It's time to put things in place,” Lankford said in a statement to Fox News. Digital: “The government is wasting away in the doghouse and letting the DOGE run.”

Many of Lankford's DOGE bills focus on federal agencies and their perceived shortcomings. The Federal Financial Management Improvement Act would address agencies' performance and assess how they stack up when compared to their financial metrics.
The Real Accountability Act would task agencies with developing plans for action internally in the event of a crisis.

Additionally, Lankford includes the “Access Act,” which prohibits minimum education requirements when it comes to government contractor employees during certain federal contract discussions.
The slew of bills introduced by the Oklahoma Republican are just the latest from GOP senators eager to get involved in DOGE.

The Senate DOGE caucus is led by Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, who has been an outspoken critic of federal agencies and remote work policies in particular.
Republicans have sought to introduce several bills before Trump's inauguration in hopes of jump-starting the process, so that certain policies can be put into effect soon after he takes office.
