Social media users attacked Vice President Kamala Harris for appearing to get the words of the Pledge of Allegiance wrong in the US Senate on Friday.
Before taking the oath of office in the Senate 119th CongressHarris led the pledge and accidentally blurted out his famous opening words, “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.”
Through the microphone, she could be heard saying, “I pledge allegiance to the United States,” walking away as she appeared to pick herself up, then snapping with others, “…the United States of America.”
However, the moment went viral on social media, with a large number of X users mocking her mistake.
