Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was discharged from Akruti Hospital in Thane district on January 1, 2025. After suffering from a urinary tract infection and severe cramps for about two weeks, doctors discovered clots in his brain, making his recovery more noticeable.

When he left the hospital, Kambli wore the famous Indian jersey, a nod to his cricketing roots. Addressing the waiting media, he shared a heartfelt message, urging people to avoid alcohol and drugs.

“Enjoy life, don't drink alcohol,” Kambli said with renewed energy in his voice.

Lively press conference upon exit

Before his departure, Kambli held a short press conference in which his sense of humor and resilience shined.

“This doctor (Thakur) got me fit. “I said I will leave only when I am ready,” Kambli joked. Reflecting on his recovery journey, he added: “I only hit four fours and sixes here in the hospital!”

He also expressed his determination to return to cricket, promising: “I will show the people at Shivaji Park that I, Vinod Kambli, will not quit cricket.”

New Year's message to the fans

Welcoming 2025, Cambly wished everyone a Happy New Year and shared an important life lesson.

He called for staying away from alcohol and drugs. “Vices can ruin your life. Enjoy the new year and live well.”
