LONDON (Reuters) – British house prices unexpectedly fell last month for the first time since March even though they ended the year higher than they were in December 2023, figures from Halifax Mortgage Bank showed on Tuesday.
Halifax said house prices fell 0.2% in December after rising 1.2% in November, and were 3.3% higher year-on-year, less than economists polled by Reuters expected a 4.2% rise.
