According to Federal Aviation AdministrationThe Psa Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional plane collided with the air with a SIKORSKY UH-60 helicopter as it approached the runway 33 at the National Reagan Airport (DCA) around 9 pm local time. The plane was working on a 5342 flight for American airlines, and left from Whitchita, Kansas.
There were 60 passengers and four crew members on US Airways flight and three army soldiers in Black Hawk. Those on board the plane included “several members” of ice skiing in the United States, including athletes, coaches and family members who have just attended the American ice ski championship held in Whitchita from January 20 to January 26.
The exact number of injuries and deaths has not now been confirmed.

At the time of the accident, Reagan National Airport reported a clear sky, 10 miles and winds that lasted from the northwest at 16 miles per hour, and fell to 26 miles per hour. The temperature was 50 degrees.

Vice President JD Vance moved to social media on Wednesday night to address the collision and urge prayer for the participants.
“Please say a prayer for all participants in the collision in the air near the Reagan Airport this evening. We are watching the situation, but now let's hope for the best,” he said.

The National Transport Safety Council, FAA and the American Army launched all the investigations into a deadly collision.

The airport remains closed until 11 am this morning after a collision last night between a US Airways passenger plane and an army helicopter.
