President-elect Trump He announced Saturday that he has hired the creator of “The Apprentice” to play a diplomat in the United Kingdom.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump appointed Mark Burnett, a British-American television producer born in London, as US special envoy to the United Kingdom.
“It is a great honor for me to appoint Mark Burnett as Special Envoy to the United Kingdom,” the President-elect said. “With a distinguished career in television production and business, Mark brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role.”
In addition to creating Trump's previous show, “The Apprentice,” Burnett also created “Shark Tank” and led production on other shows such as “Survivor” and “The Martha Stewart Show.” In his post on Truth Social, Trump said the producer had created some of the “biggest shows in the history of television,” and praised his accomplishments.
“He's the former chairman of MGM, and he's won 13 Emmy Awards!” Republican Books. “Mark will work to strengthen diplomatic relations, focusing on areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment opportunities and cultural exchanges. Congratulations, Mark!”
No one currently serves as a US special envoy to the UK. Special envoy roles are typically temporary in nature and intended to accomplish a specific mission, although Trump did not specify the purpose of the role in his announcement.

And earlier in December, Trump clicked Warren A. Stevens To serve as the United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James, also known as the United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James UK.
“Over the past 38 years, while serving as president, chairman and CEO of his company, Stevens Inc., Warren has built a remarkable financial services company, while loyally giving back to his community as a philanthropist,” Trump said in a statement. Posted on Social Truth.
“Warren has always dreamed of serving the United States full-time. I am thrilled that he will now have this opportunity as our finest diplomat, representing the United States to one of America's dearest and most beloved allies.”
Burnett did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
