president Donald Trump He said Friday that he intends to take executive action to reform — or perhaps end — the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, criticizing the agency's response to historic flooding in North Carolina.

“I think we will recommend that FEMA go,” Trump said at a roundtable in Asheville, North Carolina, which was devastated by Hurricane Helen in September.

The president is scheduled to travel later Friday to Los Angeles, which continues to battle wildfires that have swept across large swaths of the city.
