Travis Kelce confirms Taylor Swift will attend Chiefs playoff game and dodges question about new songs

Chiefs Kingdom will welcome back its most popular members for this weekend's playoff showdown against the Houston Texans.

Travis Kelsey That friend confirmed Taylor Swift35, will be in attendance when the Chiefs host the Texans at Arrowhead Stadium in the NFL's first-round playoff game on Saturday, January 18.

“You know that, baby,” Kelce, 35, said on Monday, January 13, on ESPN. The Pat McAfee Show. “You know it's a football playoff, man.”

Swift was present for all four of the Chiefs' playoff victories last season, including their Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

“I just want to tell you what live bettors do,” McAfee, 37, told Kelsey. “They saw her get on that court, and they immediately picked up the phone and said, ‘Yes, the Chiefs are about to win.’ That’s literally the feeling.”

The pop star attended seven Chiefs home games during the 2024-25 season, and Kansas City won all of them. It last appeared in the team's Dec. 21 win over the Texans, which the Chiefs will face after Houston's win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL Wild Card round on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Kelce missed the Chiefs' final regular-season game on Jan. 5 against the Denver Broncos after Kansas City clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC, and told McAfee he's eager to get back to playing — while Using Swift's lyrics in the process.

“I feel excited,” Kelsey said. “I feel like I'm 22 again, honey. Let's go.”

McAfee then sang some lyrics to Swift's song “22” from her 2012 album. redWhile waving his arms back and forth.

Kelsey smiled and said, “I was hoping you caught the reference, darling.”

McAfee praised Kelce for being a “gentleman,” which is a stark contrast to all the “boys” Swift has dated in the past. When asked if Swifties can expect any love songs about Kelce in the near future, the star tight end remained coy.

“There might be a few, I don’t know,” Kelsey said. “There may be a few.”

When McAfee asked him if he “heard anything,” Kelce laughed and said, “You know I can't say any of that.”

“I'll never be involved, but I'm here to support it,” Kelce added. “I'm here to see where things can go, you know what I mean?”

McAfee, a former NFL player for the Indianapolis Colts, also marveled at the vision Tour of the ages at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in November 2024. Kelce, who attended his third and final Indianapolis show, was in full agreement.

“I thought the European fans were crazy, but I'll tell you man. Lucas Oil, I had to go to the last night there in Indy, and it was lit,” Kelsey recalls fondly. “They were going crazy. I've seen this thing swing when the Colts are playing, and this thing probably swings more.”

The Chiefs take on the Texans in the NFL playoffs on Saturday, January 18 at 4:30 PM ET on ESPN.
