Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou said the club wants to ensure captain Son Heung-min wins a title with the club after he extended his stay until the summer of 2026.

Tottenham will face Liverpool in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final on Wednesday, which was the last tournament the team achieved in 2008.

Son has been runners-up in the UEFA Cup and Champions League during his stay with Tottenham, and Postecoglou wants him to go that step further.

β€œThe main ambition is to make sure he ends his career here with some trophies,” he said.

Tottenham are still plagued by injuries but defender Radu Dragosin should be available after being taken off at half-time against Newcastle last weekend.

Dragusin – the only fit centre-back at the club – is available to play after illness, with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies still out.

New goalkeeper Antonin Kinski has been registered and can play, and the club are still hoping to add to their depleted numbers this month.

β€œWe are still trying to help the team and the players,” Postecoglou said. β€œWe will have approximately 10 first-team players missing.

β€œThis is not easy, so we have to try to help the group.”

Tottenham have Rodrigo Bentancur back from suspension but James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr are banned.

Wingers Richarlison and Mickey Moore are back in training and youngster Moore is likely to be available. Goalkeeper Fraser Forster has returned to training after illness, but Guglielmo Vicario has been out for an extended period.

Destiny Udogie and Wilson Odobert complete the missing names for Spurs.
