TikTok is resuming services for its 170 million users in the United States after President-elect Donald Trump said he would give the app a reprieve when he takes office on Monday.

On Sunday, the Chinese-owned app stopped working for US users, following concerns that Chinese officials could access their data.

TikTok later said in a statement that it was in the process of “restoring the service” just hours after the service was halted in America.

She thanked the president-elect for “providing the necessary clarity and assurances” and said they would work with Trump “to reach a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”
