“We are grateful to the city of San Diego and Tori Pines to host the Genesis Invitational Championship for 2025, and everyone who communicates to support the championship,” Woods said in a statement. “While Riviera remains home to The Genesis Invitationalism, we look forward to playing at another star of the tournament this year and using the championship to support the fires affected in the Los Angeles region.”

The fires did not destroy the rural club Riviera, as the event was supposed to be held. However, it deals with energy and water issues, and the tournament is transferred out of respect for fire victims.
Genesis Invitationalism is expected to return to The Riviera Country Club in 2026.
