Liverpool recorded a vital win over Brentford in the Premier League earlier today, and Thomas Frank praised the league leaders for their complete performance.
Although Liverpool controlled most of the match, Liverpool struggled to find the net. Darwin Nunez came on as a substitute in the second half to score twice in stoppage time.
Brentford managed an impressive draw against Manchester City recently, but were unable to trouble Liverpool this weekend. Their manager has now claimed that Liverpool are above the level of Arsenal and Manchester City. He believes they are a complete team and their work ethic sets them apart from their title rivals. He also added that Liverpool is the best team in the league and the world at the moment.
Thomas Frank revealed on the BBC: “I think we've just played City, Arsenal and now Liverpool, in a short space of time. For me they are the highest level of the two teams. They are complete. Their work ethic, the way they track, are good indicators. They are very good all over the pitch. Like this “The threat is going forward. This is really, really good. They are the best team in the Premier League and in the world. They are the favorites to win the title.”
The Reds needed a win against Brentford
Liverpool will be pleased with their performance today, and it will be interesting to see if they can extend their lead at the top of the table in the coming weeks. The team is currently seven points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.
After dropping points to Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, Liverpool were desperate for three points today and Arne Slott will be happy with the result. The Dutch coach has changed games often this season with his substitutes, and he has succeeded in doing so again with the likes of Nunez and… Harvey Elliott turned the game in the Reds' favor.
