KIEV (Reuters) – Ukrainian air defenses shot down 52 of 103 Russian drones launched overnight, the Ukrainian military said on Sunday.
The army said on the Telegram application that it had lost track of 44 drones, and another had left the territory of Ukraine for Belarus.
The army did not provide any information about the fate of the remaining drones.
However, they said that in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr and Kiev regions, private businesses and residential buildings were damaged by the Russian attack.
The army added, “Initially, there were no casualties.”
Local authorities said that debris from one of the downed drones fell on the roof of a multi-storey building in the Kiev region, causing a fire.
