Billy Bob Thornton earns award nominations again thanks to his starring role in Taylor Sheridan's latest film, Landmanbut it's not his first broadcast series. One man against the titans of industry

Before the series began, Billy helped defend a murder suspect, and although he won the case, the suspect used his newfound freedom to murder a family. While out with Cooperman McBride, Billy became an enemy of his former partner Cooperman, played by William Hurt, and his ex-wife Michelle, played by Maria Bello, who remained with the company. Basic setup for Goliath It's not groundbreakingly original, but it's well acted, and the writing is the kind you'd expect from mega-creator and producer David E. Kelley.
In each successive season, Billy faces off against another “Goliath,” which includes the Mexican Cartel, Los Angeles politics, and a massive agricultural conglomerate.
