Galactic Battle Controversy

While the uniform was elegant, so was Ronald D. Moore's uniform Battlestar Galactica The reboot is not a show that is largely remembered for its sci-fi style. However, there was one major exception: the flowing red dress worn by the sexy Cylon known only as Six. She's played to perfection by Tricia Helfer, who recently donned the red dress in celebration of the ultimate fan project: Barry Armstrong's full-scale replica of the Viper starfighter piloted by pilots like Starbuck in the show.

Armstrong used his Facebook page, Baz Builds, to provide constant updates about his Viper project. This is more than just a static replica, although that alone would still be insanely impressive. However, his snake has lights, sounds, and moving parts, and through a series of fun coincidences (or maybe that was the will of the Kobol masters?), he ends up getting a video from Tricia Helfer, complete with red. The dress that burned into the minds Battlestar Galactica Fans all over the world.

Barry Armstrong is understood to have amassed the following on his Facebook page… As of this writing, around 10,400 people follow him, allowing them to get updates about the project and engage in some pretty nerdy discussions. Armstrong is an Australian military veteran, and on December 21, his page received a post from Mitchell Bell, a Marine who has a “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon”-style relationship with GalacticaHottest star. He wrote about how his “good marine brother, Freddie Joe Farnsworth,” worked. Tricia HelferThis veteran colleague was able to put Bell in touch with Helfer.

To hear Bell tell it, the actor was “amazed by his passion for detail” on this incredible project, and that was enough for him to get his shot taken. He “humbly asked to shout out” Paz, which led to her video being posted Instagram. Tricia Helfer shouted “Happy Birthday to a friend of a friend,” in reference to her Viper project, before appearing in the frame wearing her signature red dress.

If you only know the actress by her serious and scary role as a villain Battlestar GalacticaYou might be surprised at how ridiculous the video is. When it first enters the frame, it makes a meowing sound similar to a cat Science fiction Sound effect. Then, in a louder voice, she narrates exactly what she's doing on screen: “Number six in front of the Christmas tree!”

After Tricia Helfer acted cute and silly in her legendary red dress, she cautiously said she was “trying to entertain” herself, then referred to Paz by name. Specifically, she expressed her hope that Baz would “enjoy a Christmas shout-out from Mitch.” As for the rest of the fans, they enjoyed the video for other reasons, with fans on and off Instagram mostly commenting on how stunning Helfer looked and how well she pulled off the sexy little dress.

On a superficial level, it's easy to view all of this as nothing more than eye candy. After all, seeing a full-sized replica of the Viper and Tricia Helfer in the red dress makes for a very nice Christmas gift for all of us. However, this whole series of events is very instructive for several other reasons, including the fact that it underscores just how powerful it is Battlestar Galactica The fanbase still is. Peacock's planned reboot may be more lethal than Starbuck's, but it's great to know that there's still a lot of passion for the 2003 show that helped make Tricia Helfer famous.

Tricia Helfer

Speaking of this actress, it is impossible to see all of this without realizing what a graceful and classy actress she is. Tricia Helfer didn't have to respond at all, let alone make our heads explode by dusting off her red dress. Over two decades after Ronald D. Moore Battlestar Galactica premiered, Helfer proved that she still has an amazing respect for the passionate fans who helped put the show on the map.

The only downside to all of this is that Barry Armstrong makes us question our lazy vacations. It's like we've done nothing more than stuff our faces and keep an eye on the DVR, and this guy here is building life-sized replicas that would put most Hollywood prop makers to shame. Now, though, we may have the greatest motivation ever to do something meaningful with our lives: knowing that, if it's cool enough, Tricia Helfer might record a song. Exciting video Just for us.

So we all say. Or, in the spirit of the season, he, he, he says we all are.
