“When I looked from where my house was at all the surrounding homes, I found that the fire had literally reached within inches of the properties,” she added. “I don't know how they saved so much property and so many lives. I'm forever grateful but definitely shaken.”

When leaving her home, Seymour said she could only think about grabbing the things that were most important to her.

She added: “But honestly, I left the house with the clothes I was wearing, which were jeans.” “And I think I put on an extra jacket. And I took two books that my mother had saved from the war in a concentration camp. Of all the things I had in the world, this is the one I decided to take with me.”

Earlier this week, the 73-year-old actress posted a series of photos and videos On Instagram It features firefighters fighting forest fires. Another photo showed how close the fire came to her home.

“While the Franklin Fire continues to burn in Malibu and gets very close to our home, we are still evacuating and safe,” she wrote in the caption. “We are so grateful for our amazing firefighters and the amazing squad of volunteer firefighters in Malibu who risk everything to protect our homes and our community.”

She asked her followers to allow the fire to remind us of “the strength, courage, resilience and compassion that bind us together in the most difficult of times,” while encouraging everyone to “continue to support and lift each other up, as we always do.” “He does.”

Seymour, who attended the 64th Annual Christmas Luncheon at the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica on Friday, was praised for her philanthropic work and professional accomplishments.

This year, the event supported the BABC Holiday Campaign at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Attendees were encouraged to bring new hospital-appropriate toys to donate to patients at CHLA.

“Jane is an accomplished and extremely talented individual who has been honored by the Queen and has received the highest honors in Hollywood,” Andrew Lewis, president of BABC in Los Angeles, said in a statement.

“She is an extraordinary businesswoman, entrepreneur and advocate for Britain in the USA. Her drive to create and support charitable causes and philanthropy, including her Open Hearts Foundation, is unparalleled. We are thrilled to honor Jane.”
