Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has made a huge claim about how Trent Alexander-Arnold and his closest team handled his move to Real Madrid.
It seems increasingly likely that so Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool for Real Madrid When his contract with the Reds expires at the end of the season.
Carragher appears to believe it is now inevitable that Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool, as he described it as 'when' he leaves, not if.
Liverpool concludes an amazing deal worth 85 million euros to replace a big name!
See below, as the former Liverpool defender also suggested that any talk of a bid from Real Madrid next January would be invited by his team to cover their backs when it comes to an eventual free transfer in the summer…
The most important thing for @LFC In 2025 it is a win-win #Premier League
No one's contract or future should come in the way of that!
I like Trent as a young man and a player, but his team was going to ask Real Madrid to make an offer, and they also knew that Liverpool would reject the offer.
It's an attempt…– Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) December 31, 2024
Liverpool fans will be disappointed to see the Alexander-Arnold saga go this way, as they appear to be on the verge of losing a world-class player, who came out of their academy, for absolutely nothing.
Will other Liverpool stars follow Trent Alexander-Arnold out of Anfield?
Things could still get worse for Liverpool, as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are set to expire on their contracts.
Like Alexander-Arnold, these star names could become free agents in just a few months, and they would certainly have plenty of suitors if they became available.
However, according to David Ornstein in the video below, it's still there Maybe more hope for these two to survive…
Retaining two out of three star names could be considered a success for Liverpool, but the fact that they will lose one of their home-grown talents when he is still at the peak of his form makes it a particularly harsh blow.
Still only 26 years old, Alexander-Arnold certainly has many great years ahead of him at the highest level, and will certainly be a huge asset to Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will certainly not find it easy to replace such a unique player profile.
