The Israeli army claimed responsibility for a series of attacks Air strikes in Yemen On Thursday, international coalition aircraft struck Sanaa International Airport and other targets in the Houthi-controlled capital.

“The targets struck by the IDF include military infrastructure used by the Houthi terrorist regime in its military activities at both Sana’a International Airport and the Heziz and Ras Qanatab energy plants. In addition, the IDF struck military infrastructure in Yemen.” – The ports of Hodeidah, Salif, and Ras Qanatab on the western coast.

Overall, the Houthis have launched more than 200 missiles and 170 drones at Israel since the massacre committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which 1,200 people were killed. Since then, the Houthis have also attacked more than sixty commercial ships – particularly in Bab al-Mandab, the southern sea gateway to Egypt's Suez Canal.

Israeli officials said that a shell fired at Israel from Yemen fell on Saturday in Tel Aviv, slightly wounding 16 people. The incident was a rare occasion where Israeli defense systems failed to intercept an attack.

Israel responded by striking multiple targets in Yemeni areas under Houthi control, including power plants in Sanaa.

Israeli leaders pledged to eliminate the Houthi leadership if the missile and drone attacks did not stop.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Monday: “We will strike their strategic infrastructure and behead their leaders. Just as we did with (former Hamas leader Ismail) Haniyeh.” Sinwar and NasrallahIn Tehran, Gaza and Lebanon – we will do so in Hodeidah and Sanaa.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also urged Israelis to be patient, and indicated that the army would soon intensify its campaign against the Houthis.

“We will take strong, resolute and sophisticated measures. Even if it takes time, the result will be the same,” he said. He added: “Just as we moved forcefully against the terrorist arms of the Iranian axis of evil, we will also move against the Houthis.”
