Tottenham Hotspur kick off the new year with a visit to Newcastle United as they look to rediscover some Premier League form.
The Lilywhites welcome the high-flying Magpies to north London after three games without a win, and the mounting pressure on Ange Postecoglou could increase further if they once again fail to pick up three points.
List of brutal injuries for Tottenham He has been a big factor in their recent struggles and they will be without the service of the majority of their starting defensive linemen against Alexander Isak and co. Defensive issues have plagued Postecoglou's side this season, but they will fancy their chances of unnerving Newcastle at the other end of the pitch.
Here's how Tottenham Can line up.
Goalkeeper: Fraser Forster – After initially looking confident when replacing the injured Guglielmo Vicario, Forster's confidence has evaporated in recent matches. Some shaky performances did not help the back four, which changed a lot in front of him.
Right-back: Pedro Porro – Boro could be the only first-choice member of Spurs' back five available for Postecoglou NewcastleVisit and he will likely be hounded by the relentless Anthony Gordon.
Centre-back: Radu Dragosin – The Romanian has struggled to impose himself since taking charge of an injury-hit defence, and now faces the huge challenge of denying Isak a start. The in-form striker has scored eight goals in his last six Premier League games.
Midfielder: Archie Gray – Considering he was a temporary solution at centre-back, Gray has coped remarkably well in his new role. However, like Dragosin, his credentials will be severely tested by Isak on Saturday.
LB: Jed Spence – Destiny Udogie is the latest casualty at the back after a hamstring injury will keep him out for almost six weeks. Spence, who missed the draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers through suspension, will replace him at left-back.
DM: Yves Bissouma – Much of Newcastle's strength comes from their midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton. Malian international Bissouma will be key to preventing the Magpies from sweeping past Tottenham in the central areas.
Direct message: Bab Matar Saar – Rodrigo Bentancur impressed against Wolves and scored in the equalizer, but finds himself suspended again after his fifth yellow card of the season.
RW: Brennan Johnson – The Welshman gained an unwanted reputation as a lineman, continuing to score goals for a long period before fading into the background. He scored his first goal in eight matches against Wolves.
AM: Diane Kulusevski – Once again, the Swede was the standout performer for Tottenham last time out. Kulusevski is often the heartbeat of Tottenham in the final third and will be integral to breaking down a defense that has kept three clean sheets in a row.
Left wing: Son Heung-min – Son's missed penalty against Wolves proved costly and the South Korean has not looked the same of late.
ST: Dominic Solanke – Solanke has made mistakes in his last two matches but is aiming to capitalize on Fabien Schar's suspension on Saturday. It could be a battle between two impressive attacking players in north London.
