Philadelphia Eagles Head coach Nick Sirianni said it will be difficult for quarterback Jalen Hurts to play in the upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
“He is still in the (concussion) protocol,” Sirianni told reporters during a press conference on Friday. “It will be difficult for him to recover this week.”

The star quarterback was scrambling on second-and-2 when his head hit the ground during a 13-yard tackle at the end of his run. Pain was assessed on the sideline before he was eventually taken to the locker room and ruled out with a concussion.
The game against the Cowboys will be the first game Hurts will miss this season.
Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett completed 14 of 24 passes for 143 yards with a touchdown and an interception to ease the pain. Pickett, like Hurts, was also on the Eagles' injury report this week with a rib injury.
However, Pickett said during a press conference on Thursday that he would be “ready to go” on Sunday.

Sirianni said he liked what Pickett did in practice this week.
“I think (Pickett) had a great week of practice; he did a great job. And, you know, he had some good practices and guidance this week,” he said.
Philadelphia acquired Pickett from Pittsburgh Steelers In March to back up the pain. Now, the team's playoff seed rests in his hands.
The Eagles still have an outside chance at landing the No. 1 seed in the NFC as they are currently 12-3, but both Detroit Lions The Minnesota Vikings are 13-2. Philadelphia will need some help to grab the top spot and the all-important bye week in the Wild Card Round.
While the Eagles may be eyeing a No. 1 seed, the NFC East is still up for grabs after their loss to Leaders Sunday.

If the Eagles lose the next two games and the Chiefs win the next two, the NFC East will be decided based on a tiebreaker.
The Eagles' final two games are at home, taking on the Cowboys at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday and then the Humble New York Giants At week 18.
The Leaders face a tougher schedule over the final two weeks of the regular season. They are playing Atlanta Falconswho are fighting for their lives in the playoffs, at 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, then the Cowboys in Week 18.
