Andi Dorfman speaks on behalf of new mothers.
“The Bachelorette” star.(37 years old) welcomed her first child, a daughter she named Harper, nine days ago. On Saturday, she took to social media to share that after leaving the hospital with her new baby, she had to return for surgery.
Dorfman posted a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed holding her baby to her Instagram Story. She wrote alongside the photo: “Hello, we're back! This time for your mama (minor setback and need quick/safe action) but first you have to embrace this little lump quickly. And you've never been less excited about the anesthesia (motherhood changes you fast).
She added, “Lesson learned: No matter how ignorant you are about motherhood, you still know your body best! Listen to it! Yes, recovery is hard and everyone is different, but your instincts are right (and probably right).”
A few hours later, she shared an update, saying that many of her followers had sent her private messages — something she said made her realize, “I'm not alone in feeling overwhelmed and alone with the general lack of postpartum care.”

She continued to explain what happened, writing: “Anyway, after I got home, I was in a lot of pain and it was getting worse day by day. Even though the internet says it takes time to recover, I still felt like something was wrong, and finally… After trying.” Every home treatment, I called my doctors and they told me to come in right away.”
Dorfman said she did Two hematomasthe largest and the smallest, were the source of pain.
“Within a few hours we were in the hospital and getting ready for surgery. A very simple procedure but still very terrifying to have with a 6-day-old baby (plus large amounts of hormones still lurking).”

“All of this (over)sharing is to say…trust your body, trust your instinct, trust that your doctors truly care about your health and well-being and don't be afraid to reach out to them,” she concluded. “I felt a little guilty for worrying about myself instead of my daughter, but I realized it's no good if I'm not good. I hope this helps anyone who doubts their postpartum recovery.”
Dorfman and her husband, Blaine Hart, a senior vice president at a real estate company, married in May 2023 after first meeting years ago in college.

She gained public attention when she appeared in the eighteenth season of a television series “Bachelor” In 2014, she competed with other women to win the heart of Juan Pablo Galavis. She had come a long way on the show, but after spending a night with him, she made the decision to leave the show.
