Texas Longhorns Quarterback Arch Manning on Monday shot down rumors that he has made plans to enter the transfer portal at the end of the season as the team prepares for its next College Football Playoff game against Arizona State.
Rumors swirled around Manning throughout the entire season when he sat as his backup Quinn Ewers. When Ewers went down with injury, Manning stepped up and the offense never missed a beat. He has 939 yards and nine touchdowns.

“I mean, I don't have any plans to enter the portal or anything like that,” the freshman said. via competitors. “So, I don’t really know about that, about all the windows and everything.”
He admitted that being a backup quarterback was an adjustment after being a popular high school quarterback whose family was one of the most famous in football.
“It's definitely an adjustment,” Manning said. “Nobody wants to not play at all. But like I said, doing anything I can to help the team win, whether they're playing or not playing, that's what I'll do.”

He credited Ewers with helping him learn the basics of being a collegiate football player.
Ewers echoed that sentiment.
“We have a good relationship, so it's easy to be that way for sure,” Ewers said.
Manning is definitely in line to become Starting quarterback In 2025 except Ewers decides to stay in school for one more year before turning pro.
