Think about South Africa On his journey to the WTC final, Bavuma made no secret of his excitement. “The high point (is) probably now, qualifying for the (World Test Championship) final,” he shared after his team’s 2-0 win over Pakistan.
South Africa's journey to the World Trade Center finals has not been smooth. However, they topped the WTC points table with 8 wins in 12 matches. However, captain Bavuma believes there is still room for improvement within the team.
“We are not a well-oiled machine yet,” Bavuma admitted. “But we have made huge strides, and the final is a reward for our efforts.”
Facing Australia at Lord's

“Look, if I could pick one team, it probably wouldn't be Australia. But I mean that's what it is, isn't it?” he commented with a smile.
Australia recently won Border Gavaskar Trophy Beating India 3-1. They will head into the World Trade Center Finals brimming with confidence. But Bavuma is confident his team will rise to the occasion and adapt to the conditions in England.
“Preparedness is key,” he added. “We will leave no stone unturned as we prepare to meet the Lord.”

Captain Bavuma scored
Since taking over as South Africa's Test captain in 2023, Bavuma has been nothing short of impressive. The team did not lose a single match under his leadership. They have eight wins in nine matches.
Bavuma has flourished with the bat as well. He scored 809 runs at an impressive average of 57.78 as captain. Three of his four Test centuries have come while he was captain of the team.

The World Trade Center final will be a massive test for South Africa. But with Bavuma at the helm, they have a leader ready to take on the challenge.
“This is the pinnacle of Test cricket,” Bavuma said. “It is an opportunity to etch our names in history.”
