Chelsea are said to have a long list of transfer targets in defense next January, with as many as seven names in mind at centre-back.
according to Simon PhillipsThomas Araujo and Antonio Silva from Benfica, Dean Huysen and Elia Zabarny from Bournemouth, Ousmane Diomandi from Sporting Lisbon, Mark Guehi from Crystal Palace, and Ronald Araujo from Barcelona.
Chelsea may even remember Trevo Chalupa Next January if they cannot complete any further deals, according to the report, with the Blues keen to ensure they have enough depth in defence.
Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca currently has a few options in defence, but Wesley Fofana is injured and does not have the best overall fitness record, while others such as Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile have not performed as expected.
Tosin Adarabioyo joined CFC in the summer and did well when he joined the team, but it seems he did not gain Maresca's trust as he was not a regular starter.
Who are Chelsea's defensive targets?
Chelsea could do well to improve their depth and overall quality at centre-back, with the likes of Silva, Diomandi and Huyson among the best young defenders in the game at the moment.
Enzo Maresca is worried about two Chelsea players!
Both Silva and Araujo excelled at Benfica One imagines they are two players the club will struggle to keep, as their star names have often been stolen in the past, including, of course, Enzo Fernandes to Chelsea.
The likes of Guehi and Howesen have the advantage of proving their worth in the Premier League, so they could be good options, but one imagines that signing them from rival English clubs could cost more.
Some Chelsea fans may also be satisfied with Chalupa's recall from his loan at Crystal Palace.
The 25-year-old has performed well at Selhurst Park this season and didn't make too many mistakes at Stamford Bridge either, looking a bit unlucky to have been offloaded in the summer.
