Investing.com – Shares in Spain rose after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the stock sector led shares higher.

At the end of trading in Madrid, it added 0.33%.

Among the leading stocks today, Sacer (BME:) emerged, which rose 1.96%, or 0.06 points, to reach 3.12 at the close. On the other hand, Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:) shares continued to rise at 1.64%, or 0.03 points, and closed at 1.86, while Ferrovial (BME:) shares rose 1.20%, or 0.48 points, at 40.54 at the end of the session.

As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, Fluidra (BME:) stock closed down 0.92%, or 0.22 points, and traded at 23.72 levels at close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:) shares declined by 0.37%, or 0.03 points, to a price of 8.01, while Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:) declined, by 0.32%, or 0.03 points, to a price of 9.27.

Declining stocks outnumbered gaining stocks on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:) shares fall to 3-year lows; It decreased by 0.37% or 0.03 to 8.01.

Gold futures for February delivery settled at 0.00% or 0.00 and closed at $2,633.50 per ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, the price of crude oil contracts for February delivery fell 0.09%, or 0.06, to reach a price of $70.10 per barrel, while the Brent oil contract for March rose 1.24%, or 0.90, to close at $73.22 per barrel.

The EUR/USD pair was unchanged by 0.15% to reach 1.04, while the EUR/GBP pair was unchanged by 0.16% to reach 0.83.

US dollar index futures rose 0.18% to 108.00.
