Investing.com – Israeli stocks rose after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the stock sector pushed shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the stock rose 0.24%.
The best performers of the day were Newmed Energy LP (TASE:), which rose 3.23%, or 36.00 points, to trade at 1,150.00 at the close. Harel shares (TASE) increased by 2.96%, or 149.00 points, to close at 5,188.00. Strauss Collection (TASE:) rose 1.94%, or 134.00 points, to 7,030.00 at the end of the session.
As for the weakest performer at the end of today's trading, Sapiens International Corporation NV (TASE:) stock closed down 2.69%, or 265.00 points, and traded at 9,600.00 at the close. Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:) declined by 1.96%, or 370.00 points, to a price of 18,520.00, while Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:) declined by 1.86%, or 151.00 points, to 7,950.00.
The number of advancing shares outnumbered the declining shares on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 347 shares compared to 124 shares, and 65 shares closed without change.
Sapiens International Corporation NV (TASE:) shares fell to 52-week lows; It fell by 2.69% or 265.00 to 9,600.00.
Crude oil futures for February delivery fell 0.19%, or 0.14, to close at $71.72 per barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent crude for March delivery rose 1.16%, or 0.85, to $74.42 per barrel, while February gold futures fell 0.00%, or 0.05, to $2,639.30 per ounce.
The US dollar/Israeli shekel rose 0.30% to 3.64, while the euro/Israeli shekel rose 0.27% to 3.77.
US dollar index futures rose 0.32% to 108.28.
