Investing.com – Indian stocks rose after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the equity sector led shares higher.
At the end of trading, the NSE index rose by 0.48%, while the index rose by 0.56%.
The best performers of the session were Maruti Suzuki India (NS:), whose value rose 3.22% or 349.90 points and reached 11,208.30 at closing. Meanwhile, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. (NS:) continued to rise by 2.49%, or 74.90 points, to close at 3,082.00. Larsen and Toubro Ltd (NS:) rose 1.66% or 59.85 points at 3,667.50 at the end of the session.
It was the worst performance of the session Hindalco Industries (NS:), which fell in value by 1.58%, or 9.50 points, and traded at 592.95 levels at closing. Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd (NS:) shares declined by 1.40%, or 19.50 points, to a price of 1,369.00, while Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:) shares declined by 1.01%, or 12.40 points, to 1,218.70.
Among the best-performing stocks in the BSE Sensex 30 index, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd rose. (BO:) which rose by 3.02% to a price of 11,195.00, and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (BO:) which rose by 2.31% to a price of 3,076.45, then Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO). 🙂 Which rose by 1.93% to close at 3,677.60.
Among the worst performing stocks today were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which fell by 0.80% to close at 137.00, Wipro Ltd (BO:) which lost 0.40% to close at 300.80 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which fell. by 0.34% to reach a price. 1,911.80 at closing.
Advancing stocks outnumbered declining stocks on the Indian National Stock Exchange by 1828 to 694, and 133 ended unchanged; On the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2,598 shares rose, 1,205 shares fell, while 83 shares closed unchanged.
Which measures the implied volatility of options on the Nifty 50 traded down 0.07% and closed at 14.44.
Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.00% or 0.05 and closed at $2,639.30 per ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude oil contracts for February delivery fell 0.19%, or 0.14, to reach a price of $71.72 per barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.16%, or 0.85, to close at $74.42 per barrel.
USD/INR rose 0.33% to 85.79, while EUR/INR fell 0.38% to 88.97.
US dollar index futures rose 0.32% to 108.28.
