Investing.com – Indian stocks fell after the close on Wednesday, as losses in stocks and sectors dragged stocks lower.

At the end of trading, the index lost 0.11%, while the index lost 0.11%.

The best performers of the session were Tata Motors Limited (NS:), whose value rose 1.92% or 13.90 points and reached 736.10 at closing. Meanwhile, Adani companies Ltd (NS:) rose by 1.43% or 33.50 points and closed at 2,372.45. Spices Petroleum (NS:) continued to rise by 1.00% or 2.90 points at 292.00 at the end of the session.

As for the weakest performer at the end of today's trading, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:) shares closed down 1.65%, or 5.20 points, and traded at 310.10 levels at the close. JSW Steel Ltd (NS:) was down 1.62% or 15.20 points at 921.85. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) stock fell 1.30%, or 18.30 points, to 1,387.00.

Among the best performing stocks in the BSE Sensex 30, Tata Motors Ltd (BO:) rose 1.92% to 736.35, ITC Ltd (BO:) rose 0.86% to 478.30, then Nestle India Ltd (BO:) rose 0.86% to 478.30. It increased by 0.69%. To close at 2,166.80.

Among the worst performing stocks today were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which fell by 1.62% to close at 310.15, JSW Steel Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.54% to close at 922.25 and Titan Company Ltd (BO). 🙂 Which lost 1.54% at 922.25. It fell 1.19% to 3,356.00 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered declining stocks on the NSE by 1,186 to 1,141 and 45 stocks closed unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange, 0 fell and 0 advanced.

The Nifty 50, which measures the implied volatility of options, fell by 2.53% and closed at 20.08, a new 3-month high.

Gold futures for February delivery settled at 0.00% or 0.00 and closed at $2,633.50 per ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, the price of crude oil contracts for February delivery fell 0.09%, or 0.06, to reach a price of $70.10 per barrel, while the Brent oil contract for March rose 1.24%, or 0.90, to close at $73.22 per barrel.

USD/INR rose 0.27% to 85.40, while EUR/INR rose 0.01% to 88.56.

US dollar index futures rose 0.18% to 108.00.
