Investing.com – Brazilian stocks rose after the close on Thursday, as losses in sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the index lost 1.15%.
The best performers of the session were Blue SA preferred (BVMF:), whose value rose 3.63% or 0.16 points and reached 4.57 at closing. On the other hand, Embraer SA (BVMF:) shares continued to rise by 3.57%, or 2.07 points, and closed at 60.13, while Bradespar SA (BVMF:) shares rose 1.37%, or 0.22 points, to 16.24 at the end of the session.
As for the weakest performer at the end of today's trading, Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) stock closed down 8.07%, or 2.02 points, and traded at 23.00 levels at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:) shares declined by 6.96%, or 1.68 points, to a price of 22.47, while LWSA SA (BVMF:) shares declined by 6.87%, or 0.23 points, to a price of 3.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising stocks on the B3 exchange by 506 to 427, with 69 stocks closing unchanged.

Gold futures for February delivery rose 1.01%, or 27.50, and closed at $2,745.30 per ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for March delivery fell 1.14%, or 0.90, to $77.81 a barrel, while the March US Coffee contract fell 1.03%, or 3.40, to $327.05.
The USD/BRL rose 0.74% to 6.05, while the EUR/BRL rose 0.81% to 6.23.
US Dollar Futures fell 0.10% to 108.81.
