Arne Slott praised Liverpool's “outstanding” second half which earned them a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League leaders maintained their six-point lead at the top of the table, with Diogo Jota coming off the bench to prevent the home side from cutting the gap at the top to just three points after Chris Wood's early opener.
Liverpool struggled to break down a stubborn Forest display for the better part of an hour, but a much-improved display following the introduction of Jota saw the spoils shared.
“Their goalie had to make some great saves, but their defenders also made some good saves with a few chances,” Slott told TNT Sports. “They blocked almost every shot.
“I couldn't have asked for more. The second half was outstanding. There are not many teams that can create this many chances against an opponent with such defensive strength. Unfortunately we were not able to get a second.
“You have to be a bit lucky with those (substitutions).
“We took Eppo (Konate) out at that moment who is usually a big threat on set-pieces, but we all know that Jota can score a goal and Tsmikas has a good pass.” We brought them on to score a goal but they did it after 20 seconds.
Jota: “A good point, but we wanted three points”
Jota's header from close range from a corner kick was assisted by fellow substitute Kostas Tsimikas, with the duo making a significant contribution after coming on.
“We were watching the (2023 FA Cup) goal a few years ago and he (Tsimikas) passed it to me, so when we were on the touchline we said: 'Let's go now and recreate that,'” the Portuguese striker said. Take the corner. And he was a target.
“It was one of those occasions where things went well. But like I said, I'm not happy because I think we could have won.”
Regarding their lead at the top, which remains at six points, Jota said: “It's a long way to go in the Premier League. Every ground you go to is difficult. It's another point but we wanted the three points.”
Sils: A draw is still a good result
Forest goalkeeper Matz Sells received much deserved plaudits after making a number of brilliant saves to keep the Tricky Trees in the game.
The Belgian goalkeeper said: “It was amazing with all the supporters behind us. One point is a good result in the end for us. Of course we wanted to win, but I think one point is a good result against them.
“In the second half there was more space between the lines and Liverpool had some big chances. If you're realistic, you'd have to say the point is a good result for us.
“I'm there for that, to help the team in difficult moments. In the second half, the last 20-25 minutes, they had a lot of big chances. Everyone fought for that, until the last minute. I'm really happy for the team and also that we didn't We lose because that gives us confidence for the next match.
“Before the season we needed to get to 40 points as quickly as possible. With 17 games left, we have 41 games to go so we can look a little bit better. If you want to finish in the top four or top five, you have to keep these teams behind you, Such as Aston Villa, Manchester City and Newcastle.
Top scorer Jota, who was denied several times by Sales after his goal, said of the goalkeeper's display: “I was just saying that to my former coaches from Wolves now. He made one or two great saves. You want to do better but he was good too.”
