Six people, including a child, were killed in a Ukrainian air strike in Russia's Kursk region, Russian authorities said.
The acting governor of the region added that 10 people were taken to hospital following the attack on the town of Rylsk.
The governor added that a cultural centre, a fitness complex, a school and homes were damaged.
This comes after Ukrainian officials said Moscow launched a new missile attack on Kiev, damaging a building in the city center that houses six embassies.
The Foreign Ministry said the diplomatic missions of Albania, Argentina, North Macedonia, Palestine, Portugal and Montenegro were affected. It is unclear whether the building was directly targeted.
According to the Ukrainian army, at least one person was killed and nine others were injured in the attack, which damaged a number of buildings in the city.
European Union President Ursula von der Leyen condemned Friday's attack on the Ukrainian capital, calling it “another heinous Russian attack on Kiev.”
Russia has not yet commented.
The Ukrainian military said that Russia launched 65 drones and missiles across the country overnight, most of which were shot down.
The country's air force said it shot down all five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles fired by Russia at Kiev on Friday morning, with debris causing damage in five areas of the city.
It is not believed that any embassy diplomats were injured.
“It is absolutely unacceptable for attacks to damage or target diplomatic facilities,” Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel told local media.
