Manchester United may have enjoyed a stunning late comeback against Southampton, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe had a face like thunder during the Premier League clash.
A Manuel Ugarte own goal gave the Saints the lead in the 80th minute but Amad Diallo turned the Old Trafford club's fortunes around with a stunning hat-trick.
The winger left the ball until late to score three goals for United, who scored three points against the relegation-candidate team.
“Terrible” – a BBC correspondent reacts to what he saw from the Manchester United star 6/10!
But the Red Devils had struggled up until that point, and at some point, their fans must have feared the worst.
Ratcliffe, the Ineos boss, was present in the stands, looking horrified by one incident in particular. Anthony missed an open goal but not before Lenny Euro failed to deal with Kamaluddin Slimana, the winger dribbling past him with ease.
Euros and Anthony cost a combined £134m. While the winger's time at United appears to be over, The Frenchman is still developing and patience will be required at times.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe's time at Manchester United
Ratcliffe paid £1.3bn for a 27.7 per cent stake in the club last year, taking over football operations from the Glazer family.
He has already made some very unpopular decisions, mostly to cut costs. Last month, in a conversation with fanzine United we standRatcliffe even said the side was average:
“Manchester United have become mediocre. They are not elite and are supposed to be one of the best football clubs in the world. That is what it was like under (Sir) Alex (Ferguson). There is a big change coming to achieve elite status. But already there has been change.” Great in this club.
“It's not easy and it's not fast. It's a complex problem, and because it's been going for so long in this direction, a lot of inertia has built up in the organization. Trying to turn what was relatively mediocre into an elite team is a big task.
