Critic describes Manchester United star as a “failure”
Speaking to betting site Paddy Power, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson shared his honest thoughts on Joshua Zirkzee. He explained (h/t Metro):
“Joshua Zirkzee has been a bit of a flop since joining Manchester United in the summer. I don't like to use that word, but he has been in and out of the team and has had no consistency. United's attacking players are all fighting for their place in the team, and it seems that unless you play… “Greatly, there's no guarantee you'll be in the team next week.”
Lorenson, who helped Liverpool win 12 titles as a player, added:
“This shows me that the manager has a much bigger task in his hands. Every time Ruben Amorim picks a team, it is different, because he is trying to form the best team out of his own. The problem is that the manager has too many tasks.” Players to choose from and he won't be able to please them all.”
Zirkzee, whose current contract expires in June 2029, has been struggling to establish himself as a key player in the team. Manchester United So far this season. He has scored four goals and two assists in 25 appearances across competitions for his club so far.
The 23-year-old is likely to feature for Manchester United in their Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday (December 26).
