Scott Disick He knows firsthand the dangers of drug abuse after several stints in rehab, and now, he's committed to making sure that's the case His son, Mason Not following in his footsteps
Mason, 15, is the eldest of the three children he shares with his ex-wife Kourtney Kardashian. The former couple, who split in 2015, also have daughter Penelope, 12, and son Reign, 10.
Disick, 41, appeared in the first episode of the series Khloe Kardashian“Chloe in Wonderlandpodcast on Wednesday, January 8, where he shared that he had those difficult conversations with Mason.
“The truth is, I'm explaining to Mason how Drinking affected me “And how bad it was for me in certain places,” he said. “I talk to him all the time about it.”
Disick's ups and downs have been on public display, starting with his debut Keeping up with the Kardashians in 2007. He and Kourtney dated on and off from 2006 to 2015, with his drug use being a point of tension throughout their relationship.
They broke up shortly after Disick's parents died, with the added trauma compounding the issue. He first entered rehab in 2014 before returning several times in 2015 Again in 2020.
When Khloe complimented Disick for being honest with his son, Disick added that he would treat Mason like any other kid when it comes to alcohol.
“For a while he thought I was going to treat him differently because of that,” Disick said of his history of substance abuse. “And I said, 'I don't treat you differently because of my mistakes or the way I lived.' But if I see a problem with alcohol with you, I will take action. But other than that, you're just like any other kid. While she will try to drink, she will try to drink, but if I see a problem that may be genetic, I will intervene. But until then, you are treated like any other child.''
Khloe also speculated that Disick going through his worst issues in the public eye could help prevent Mason from making the same mistakes.
“Maybe if he saw your weirdness, like the Miami days and all that, maybe it would stop him from drinking because he'd see how…” I suggested.
“(He'll say,) 'Wow, like my dad is real — then,'” Disick joked.
“But he also knows how amazing you are right now,” Kardashian chimed in. “So it's not like you're still like this.”
