Coffin “Santa Claus”.

A team of archaeologists may have discovered a coffin containing the remains of Saint Nicholas, whose spirit of generosity is still celebrated in the modern world more than 1,600 years later.
“We believe we have encountered a coffin in its place (original position) for the first time,” said Assistant Professor Ebru Fatma Fendik, who heads the excavation team at the Department of Art History at Hatay University Mustafa Kemal.

Megiddo mosaic

The Museum of the Bible in the country's capital opened an exhibition in partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), Giving visitors an idea of early Christianity in the Holy Land.
The exhibition, titled “The Megiddo Mosaic: Foundations of Faith,” showcases the IAA find, dating from the third century, which is on display for the first time since it was found.
The mosaic formed part of the floor of the oldest Christian worship site ever discovered from the third century, according to officials at the Museum of the Bible (MOTB).
“Mosaics provide groundbreaking physical evidence of practices and beliefs Early Christians“Including the first archaeological example of the phrase ‘God Jesus Christ,’” Allegri Savariego, curator of the exhibition on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, said in the statement.
The exhibition opened to the public in September and runs until July.

Early Evidence of Christianity
Experts have recently decoded and published the oldest evidence of Christianity north of the Alps which was found in a 3rd century tomb. (Frankfurt Archaeological Museum)
Oldest known Evidence of Christianity Northern Italy was recently unveiled by archaeologists, who described the find as one of the “most important testimonies of early Christianity.”
The artifact, published by the Frankfurt Archaeological Museum, is called the Frankfurt Silver Inscription.
The Frankfurt Silver Engraving is a silver foil engraving consisting of 18 lines written in Latin. It dates back to between 230 and 260 AD, and was discovered wrapped in a small silver amulet.
The inscription begins: “In the name of Saint Titus, holy, holy, holy! In the name of Jesus Christ, Son of God!”
Saint Titus was a first-century Christian missionary and disciple of the Apostle Paul. The inscription also calls for the amulet to protect “the man who gives the will of the Lord.” jesus christ, Son of God.”
“Heavenly and earthly and under the earth, and every tongue confesses (Jesus Christ),” the text concludes.
The inscription, written in Latin, took several weeks to decipher due to its deteriorating condition. Archaeologists needed to digitally “open” the silver foil, which had been wrinkled for about 1,800 years.

“The silver inscription is now part of the museum’s permanent exhibition,” museum officials told Fox News Digital.

The octagonal church at Artaxata had a floor made of mortar and clay tiles, about 100 feet in diameter.
“The 4th-century building is the oldest archaeologically documented church in the country – exciting evidence of early Christianity in Armenia,” Professor Achim Lichtenberger of the University of Münster said in a statement.
A press release issued by the school explained, “The city developed into an important capital in the Hellenistic period and was the capital of the Kingdom of Armenia for nearly six centuries.”
