Robin Uthappa added that people look at the negative side of all things. He admitted that although the batsman is going through a rough patch, he has been a consistent performer for the team in other formats as well. He explained:

“With the intensity and losses of this tournament, people are looking at it in a negative light. Yes, he has had a very poor year in Test cricket, but he has been a consistent performer in other forms of the game and I believe legends of the game deserve a proper send-off.”

Rohit has managed just 31 runs in the ongoing series at an average of around 6 per series.
