Marcus Rashford will miss Manchester United's trip to Liverpool on Sunday due to illness.
Rashford has not featured for United in their last five matches, although he was an unused substitute in United's home defeat on Monday night by Newcastle.
“He's sick at the moment,” team president Ruben Amorim said at lunchtime. “He's not training. He'll be out this week.”
The England international recently spoke of his desire to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge, and United are said to be willing to sell if they can find a buyer.
However, that could be an issue with Rashford wanting to stay in one of Europe's top leagues, while his wages mean he is out of reach for the majority of clubs.
There have been reports that the 27-year-old has rejected three lucrative offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, while he is also not believed to be interested in a move to Türkiye.
The Sun claimed this morning that United were exploring a deal that would see Rashford join Napoli in exchange for Victor Osimhen, but a deal of this size seems unlikely in this window, especially with the Nigerian striker currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Amad and Maguire are about to stay
There was better news for United fans regarding winger Amad Diallo.
The 22-year-old has finally established himself as a first-team regular this season after a very productive loan spell at Sunderland.
His current contract is set to expire in the summer, but Amorim confirmed an extension was “imminent” while also saying the club would exercise an option to extend Harry Maguire's stay at United for a further 12 months.
“We are happy to continue with Harry,” Amorim said.
“We will run our option. He needs to improve as a leader because we are starving for leaders on the pitch.
