Humphries, the defending champion and top seed, has progressed smoothly through the tournament and now faces Wright, a two-time world champion in 2020 and 2022.
However, the build-up to the match was anything but cordial, with Wright rejecting Humphreys' chances early in the tournament, leading to heated verbal exchanges during press conferences.
The tension will finally come to a head as only one of these champions will remain standing after tonight's highly anticipated match.
“I know I can still compete with them. You know, what I do in practice is I can compete with these guys and actually be better than them,” Wright, known as “Snake Bite,” previously said.
“People think, ‘Oh, he should retire, he should go to the old thing (Seniors Tour).” No, I'm not ready for that yet. I'm ready to upset Luke Littler. “I'm here to annoy Luke Humphries.”
In response, Humphries, who is yet to drop a set in his first two matches at Alexandra Palace, responded: “If I wasn't afraid of someone, I wouldn't mention them all the time. He's had a lot to say over the last couple of weeks where he said he's not afraid.” From me and Luke Littler, but he said he was going to crush us.

“The pressure is on him now because if he doesn't do it, the egg will be on his face, not mine. I'm really relieved, and if he doesn't beat us it will look silly on him, not me.
“I'm one world title away from almost matching his career, and I'm about 25 years younger, so I think one world title will equal everything he's ever achieved in the game.”
In another high-stakes match, two of the sport's top 10 ranked players, Johnny Clayton and Gerwyn Price, will also compete.
Price, a former tournament winner, thrives in high-pressure situations and often adopts the role of “pantomime villain” for the audience.
The afternoon session will feature matches featuring Geoffrey De Graaf, Kevin Deutz and Dimitri van den Berg. The evening's lineup begins with Ricky Evans taking on Robert Owens, followed by a bout between Clayton and Price, and culminating in the main event – Humphries vs. Wright.
