President Biden signed a temporary funding bill into law on Saturday, extending government funding through March and averting a shutdown, the White House announced.
The bill includes $100 billion in disaster aid and a one-year farm bill.
The Senate worked until early Saturday morning to pass the bill by an 85-11 vote, just past a deadline after a chaotic week on Capitol Hill.
President Biden has not yet commented publicly on the passage of the legislation.
“H.R. 10545, the American Relief Act, 2025, which provides appropriations for fiscal year 2025 to federal agencies through March 14, 2025, to continue projects and activities of the federal government; provides disaster relief and economic assistance to farmers; and expands the scope of the bill,” the White House said in a statement. Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018; “It extends many expired powers.”
