Chelsea's winless run extended to three games on Monday as they suffered a frustrating 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

A controversial penalty gave Ipswich the chance to take an early lead. Filip Jorgensen was deemed to have brought down Liam Delap, who dusted himself off and sent over from the penalty spot in emphatic fashion to give the home side an advantage to defend.

Former Chelsea player Omari Hutchinson added Ipswich's second goal against the run of play ten minutes into the second half, allowing Ipswich to focus on frustrating their expensive visitors for the rest of the game.

After two successive defeats, Chelsea finds itself in fourth place in the English Premier League standings, with Arsenal able to increase its advantage to four points when it faces Brentford on Wednesday. League leaders Liverpool, who have also played one game less, are ten points ahead of the Blues.
