West Ham United fought back to earn a deserved 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

Villa saw a perfect start for the hosts eight minutes earlier. A clever two-and-one with Ollie Watkins sent Jacob Ramsey charging through on goal and the midfielder made no mistake with a smooth strike into the bottom corner. Morgan Rogers was ruling one out for sneaking right after.

West Ham should have equalized in a flurry of chances early in the second half, but they turned things around with 70 minutes on the clock as Emerson arrived unmarked at the back post to head home a cross from Edson Alvarez.

Of the two sides, it was West Ham who looked most likely to go on and win, but a tired Villa outfit managed to hang on to a share of the spoils.
