Tottenham Hotspur have one foot in the last 16 of the Europa League after Thursday evening's win over Hoffenheim in Germany.
Tottenham took the lead within the first few minutes, as Pedro Porro sent a long pass over the top into James Maddison's path to take control and finish to start the dream.
There was an element of fortune around two o'clock in the night, and it was scored by Son Heung-Min. Maddison's collapsed pass put the Spurs captain through the net, and Hoss deflected onto Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann.
Brandon Austin made an excellent save to keep the scoreline at 2-0 at half-time, before a Hoffenheim attack ensued after the break. The hosts hit the bar through former Leicester City striker Andrej Kramarek, before Var stepped in to cancel out a penalty awarded against Austin.
Hoffenheim then pulled one through Anton Stach, but Son restored breathing room for Sputenham with just over ten minutes to play with a low drive on goal from the left. That proved crucial when substitute David Mokwa reduced the deficit again in the closing stages.
