Exclusive: The nation's Republican governors state their “overwhelming support” for President-elect Trump The planned “Department of Government Efficiency”, known by its acronym DOGE.
In a letter to congressional leaders that was first shared with Fox News on Friday, The referees said They fully support DOGE and emphasized the importance of balancing the federal budget.
“As chief executives of our states, we know a thing or two about simplifying government, eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy, and delivering effective, results-driven solutions to state government. We stand with President Trump as he works to do the same with the federal government,” the governors said.

Days after winning the presidential election in November, Trump clicked Elon Muskthe world's richest person, and former Republican presidential candidate and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy to direct DOGE.
The House created an oversight subcommittee, and the Senate formed a DOGE group to work with Musk. And Ramaswamy.

The only one of the 27 Republican governors who did not sign the letter was Vermont Governor Phil Scott. Despite being a long-time member of the RGA, Scott has a history of not having his name attached to many of their letters.
The letter was sent a day after several GOP governors had dinner with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida.
