Nuno Espirito Santo was today rewarded for Nottingham Forest's impressive recent form by being named Premier League Manager of the Month for December.

Forest have enjoyed five wins in the month, and after following that up with a 3-0 win over Wolves on Monday, they now sit third, just six points behind Liverpool.

The East Midlands club were expected to be embroiled in a relegation battle this season, but they now face a challenge to at least secure a top-four spot and qualify for the Champions League.

After opening December with a defeat to Manchester City, Forest beat Manchester United, Aston Villa, Brentford, Tottenham and Everton.

They face Luton in the FA Cup tomorrow.
