Nuno Espirito Santo has ridiculed speculation linking Nottingham Forest with Wolves striker Matheus Cunha.
Forest have been linked with the Brazilian striker as they look to bolster their attacking line in their surprise bid for a European place this season.
But when asked about rumors linking the Tricky Trees with the Brazilian, who has scored 10 league goals for struggling Wolves this season, Nuno quashed the claims.
“I don't know anything about that,” the Forest boss said ahead of the Reds' trip to Bournemouth. “How can I comment on that? I'm so sorry to disappoint you.”
Forest have also been linked with Brentford striker Yoani Wissa, who has 11 goals to his name in the Premier League this season.
When pressed further on Forest's January transfer plans, Nuno added: “We are working. The club is working and more than anything else on the aspect of keeping our players here.
“This is because this is the team we have and these are the players who will solve all our problems. It is not easy to operate in this market, and because we only think about options that will improve us, it is not easy.
“It's a tough market for all teams. That's why I say we'll work in the opposite direction and let's keep our players here.
European Forest batch
Forest currently ranks third in the English Premier League, six points behind leaders Liverpool, after winning seven of their last eight league matches.
The Portuguese coach added about their great season so far: “We are happy and satisfied with the players’ performance because they are very committed and working hard and we are competing very well. The big challenge ahead of us is to maintain this level of performance.
“None of us expected or expected this situation but it is down to the association – they help each other not only in training sessions but during matches.
“The way we work as a team. It's not a surprise because we're demanding but obviously the expectations are there for everyone to see.

A sign of the good feeling at the City Ground currently is that centre-back Murillo has signed a new contract following his impressive season alongside Nikola Milenkovic so far.
Regarding the Brazilian defender, Nuno said: “We are happy that he will stay here for a long time. He is a player with tremendous talent and can improve significantly given his age.
“He joined us last season and there is improvement. As long as he stays healthy and available, he will be great for us.”
Star striker Chris Wood, who has scored 14 league goals this season, is also expected to sign a new contract in the new season.
Regarding the talks taking place with the New Zealand striker, Nuno said: “I think things are going well, but I cannot provide more details about that.”
Forest injury news
Winger Callum Hudson-Odoi's participation in their trip to the south coast this weekend is in doubt, says the Forest manager.
“He felt his thigh, it was very tight and he was in a lot of pain,” Nuno said. He has been out for several days and we will have to evaluate him and see if he is available or not.
